Citizenship by Investment Program of St. Kitts and Nevis


This program is targeted at high net worth individuals and their families who wish to obtain citizenship to the country by several investment options aimed at supporting the country’s economy.

Qualifying Criteria

To qualify for the program, applicants must show that they:

  • Have a high personal net worth, allowing them to invest in one of the following options:
    • Option 1: Real estate investment of at least $400,000 US. Investment must be kept for 5 years from the granting of citizenship.
    • Option 2: Donation to the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation. $250,000 US for single applicant, $300,000 US for up to 3 dependents, $350,000 US for up to 5 dependents, $450,000 US for up to 7 dependents and $50,000 US for each additional dependent.
  • Have not provided false information on his or her application form.
  • Do not have a criminal record.
  • Are not the subject of a criminal investigation.
  • Are not a potential national security risk to St. Kitts and Nevis or to any other country.
  • Are not involved in any activity likely to cause disrepute to the Federation of St. Christopher and Nevis.
  • Have not been denied an entry visa by a country with whom citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis have visa-free entry.

Costs and Procedures

Government costs for applicants (real estate investment):


  • Principal applicant - Government fees$50,000 US
  • Spouse - Government fees$25,000 US
  • Dependents over 18 years - Government fees$50,000 US
  • Dependents under 18 years - Government fees$25,000 US
  • Principal applicant - Due diligence fees$7,500 US
  • Dependents over 16 years - Due diligence fees$4,000 US
  • Contributions to the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation are inclusive of Government costs except due diligence fees which are outlined below:
  • Principal applicant$7,500 US
  • Spouse$4,000 US
  • Dependent over 16 years$4,000 US
  • 1File preparation and submission, payment of fees.
  • 2Citizenship-by-Investment Unit processes application, and rarely asks for applicants to attend an interview. Unit issues ‘Approved in Principle’ letter.
  • 3Investment is done under the selected option and required government fees are paid.
  • 4Citizenship certificate is issued. Applicant can apply for a passport.
